How Much Does a BMW Mini or Fiat 500 Service Cost?

How Much Does a BMW Mini or Fiat 500 Service Cost?

“How much will it cost?” is one of the first questions we’re asked, and it’s a fair one. Service costs vary with the car, its age and what it needs, so the honest answer is always “get a quote for your specific car” — but here’s a clear guide to what you’re paying for and what affects the price.

Interim vs full service — what’s the difference?

An interim service (typically every 6 months or 6,000 miles) covers the essentials — oil and filter change plus safety checks — and suits higher-mileage cars. A full service (usually annually or every 12,000 miles) is more thorough, adding items like air and fuel filters, a fuller inspection and more comprehensive checks. Manufacturer schedules and certain mileages also call for extra items (e.g. spark plugs, brake fluid, pollen filter), which we’ll always explain.

What’s included in a service at Service 700

  • Quality oil and a genuine or OE-equivalent oil filter to the correct specification
  • A thorough inspection of brakes, tyres, suspension, steering and fluids
  • Filters and other items as due on your car’s schedule
  • A clear report of anything that needs attention now or soon — with no surprises

What affects the price?

  • Interim vs full — a full service includes more parts and labour
  • Engine and model — oil capacity and the parts your specific Mini or Fiat 500 needs
  • Service-schedule extras — plugs, brake fluid, cabin filter etc. at certain intervals
  • Anything found on inspection — we’ll quote separately and never carry out extra work without your say-so

What about the MOT?

The MOT test fee is capped by the DVSA — the maximum for a standard car (class 4) is £54.85, and many garages charge less. An MOT checks roadworthiness; it isn’t a service, so the two are separate (though it’s convenient and often cheaper to have them done together).

Frequently asked questions

How often should I service my Mini or Fiat 500?

As a guide, an interim service every 6 months/6,000 miles and a full service every 12 months/12,000 miles — but follow your car’s schedule, and we’re happy to advise based on your mileage and use.

Will servicing with an independent affect my warranty?

No — thanks to ‘Block Exemption’ rules, having your car serviced by an independent garage to the correct schedule, with the right parts, does not void a manufacturer warranty.

Can I have my service and MOT done at the same time?

Yes — it’s the most convenient option and means we can sort any advisories in one visit. Just ask when you book.
